Police seek footage of Gordon car crash

ACT Police investigating a single-car accident in Gordon last night (24 March 2021) are seeking more witnesses to, or footage of, the incident.

Police were called to the accident in Jim Pike Avenue shortly after 7:05 pm. They spoke to a number of pedestrians who were there at the time but say there are a number who are yet to come forward.

Police believe the driver lost control of the vehicle, which travelled through a wire fence and clipped a tree before damaging a pedestrian handrail and street sign.

The vehicle then continued down a rock wall before landing on the footpath.

The driver fled the scene but was later located at his Gordon home and issued with an immediate suspension notice. Further charges are being investigated.
