Police will conduct a training exercise at the Canberra Institute of Technology in Bruce on Wednesday and Thursday.

The exercise will involve uniformed police members and diverse police capabilities.

During the exercise, areas of the campus and surrounds will be closed to the public.

Road blocks will be in place along Purdie Street, Bruce, restricting traffic between Battye Street and Vowels Crescent.

The road blocks will remain in place between 8am and 4pm on both days.

Residents of Bruce may see an increased police presence and hear loud noises around the institute during those hours, but police emphasize this is a training exercise only, and there are no concerns for public safety.
