Good news everyone!

According to the stats in the March 2013 Criminal Justice Statistical Profile, the rates of personal and property crimes are dropping in the ACT, announced Simon Corbell today.

“I’m happy to report year on year decreases in a number of areas including robbery, burglary/break and enter, sexual offences, public order offences, property damage, assaults, motor vehicle theft and weapons offences,” Mr Corbell said.

“The decreases in assaults and public order offences over the past 12 months are influenced, in part, by the Government’s continued commitment to the liquor legislation reforms which encourage safe and responsible drinking practices.

“The largest decrease was in robbery, down 31% from last quarter, followed by burglary/break and enter down 21% and sexual offences down 20%.

You should all be very proud of how much crime you are not committing Canberra.
