Twenty years on from the release of Liquid Skin, English indie rock pioneers Gomez are returning to Canberra this Sunday for a rare performance at the Canberra Theatre. They’ll be playing the album in full, as well as 1998’s Bring It On.

New Zealand’s Carb On Carb is visiting yet again, and honestly, I could not be more stoked. Expect generous amounts of energy and emotion as the two-piece rock the Mulgara Homestead on Friday night alongside a cast of emo heroes including Zen Haircuts, Nothing Really and Plastic Plants.

Saturday sees award-winning electronic outfit Electric Fields take to the stage at TuggersPRIDE, a specially curated series of events, performances, and discussions by LGBTIQ artists. Throughout 2019 the duo have cemented their place as one of the country’s most vital live acts, and I’d implore any fans of life-affirming, joyous dance music not to miss them.

Jonah Myers and the Monah Jyers are taking over The Front in Lyneham on Friday evening for the lovingly titled event ‘You should come to this gig at the Front’. With Dog Name, Hedy Blaazer and Jack Phemister and the Time Wasters also appearing, expect a wholesome mix of budding songcraft and outstanding band names.
