Loveable and affection-seeking Dolly would make a great addition to any family!

Meet our lovable animals looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

This week, say hello to our ‘Pets of the Week’ – the affectionate Dolly and the rambunctious Todd!

Dog of the Week – Dolly

Dolly is an adorable girl who loves pretty much everyone she meets! She’s had a bit of a hard time lately. Passerbys saw her dumped out of a car on the side of the road having only just recently given birth. Unfortunately, we’ve seen cases like this all too often…

This gorgeous girl loves her daily walks and enjoys playing with toys. She particularly likes squeaky toys – but Dolly won’t let them squeak for long! Dolly also seems to prefer pats to food (understandable that she thrives on affection). It doesn’t look like Dolly has had a lot of experience with other dogs so careful introductions will be needed. A daily walk and some games will keep her happy and healthy! We recommend Dolly for a family with children ten years and older.

Cat of the Week – Todd

Energetic Todd is looking for a quiet home that enjoys playtime!

Meet Todd! This good boy came into the shelter as a scared stray. Unfortunately, during this time no one has come to claim him but it didn’t take him long at all to settle in. He was more than happy to tell staff the way he liked things done!

Todd is a lovely boy, who purrs and rubs and rolls and is super playful (can’t lose with a laser pointer, it’s his favourite!). He made it VERY obvious that he dislikes other cats, so would be looking for an indoor-only, pet-free home.

This young cat would thrive with a safe cat run, but this is not a requirement of his adoption. He also loves his independence and doesn’t like to be handled very much. Due to this, and his preference for a quiet household, Todd would need a home with no young children (sensible teenagers should be okay).

Are you able to give this playful boy a home?

The day will be filled with lots of fun activities and you will also be able to take a tour of the shelter, pat some cute dogs or cuddle some feline friends. Plus, if you’re really lucky, you could possibly adopt a pet!
