Cuddly cat Narla is waiting to find her forever home.

Meet our lovable ‘Pets of the Week’ looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

This week, say hello to Narla and Jay, two furry friends available for adoption at RSPCA ACT.

Cat of the Week – Narla

Meet Narla, a darling old lady who was brought to our Shelter when her previous owner could no longer care for her. While Narla has been doted on by all at the Shelter, she really would love to find her new home as soon as possible!

Narla would prefer to be an only pet as she has decided that, in her old age, sharing love with other animals is just not in her nature.

Free-spirited, Narla loves to explore and inspect new things. Her new home will need plenty of enrichment with things to smell, scratch and hide in.

Due to her age, we would like Narla to find a home where she can be indoor only, with some supervised outdoor time potentially even a cat run, however these are not necessary for her adoption.

In her previous home, Narla was always one to want to be with her people. She is an amazing snuggler, who gives soft purrs and head bumps when she is in the mood (which is always).

Energetic Jay is keen to find a new family to call his own.

Dog of the Week – Jay

This is Jay. He’s ready and raring to go, on the lookout to find a new home he can settle in to. Jay is a working breed dog with plenty of energy. No matter what kind of activity you are involved in – Jay will be right by your side in amongst the action.

Jay will have a high drive for exercise and enrichment. He’ll suit a family who enjoys hiking, jogging or bike riding. This handsome boy loves to get out and explore and would enjoy any dog sport opportunities.

Jay loves to play with tennis balls, and could be open to meeting a friendly female canine companion that he could share his time with.

Cheeky Jay has a history of being an escape artist. This means that his new home will require an 8ft high fence, or a fully enclosed ‘dog run’. Plenty of exercise and enrichment will help ensure that Jay stays happily at home and free from the temptation to escape. Jay will not be suited to apartment or townhouse living.

We recommend Jay for a family with children eight years and older. Please remember that all interactions between children and dogs/pups should be monitored.

Visit us at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston ACT 2611 and add a new companion to your life – you won’t regret it!
