Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Arnie and Jasper are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These gorgeous animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below.

Dog of the Week – Arnie

Sweet Arnie is a dear boy who has had a tough time in his short life. At 1 year and 4 months old, Arnie is looking for a gentle and loving owner who has the time and patience to help him be the best dog he can be.

Arnie does take some time to feel confident when in new situations with new people. However, when he is finally comfortable he will lean into you while you give him good scratches. Arnie has had a dog companion all his life, and would love to meet an older friendly female dog in his new home.

Due to Arnie’s larger size, we recommend he find a loving family with no young children. Please remember that all dogs can be boisterous so interactions between children and dogs/pups should be monitored at all times.

Arnie is looking for a loving family ready to take him in and help build the confidence we know is inside him. Contact our team for further information.

Jasper

Jasper the cat is looking for love. Could this be you?

Cat of the Week – Jasper

Jasper the cat has had a stressful past few years and unfortunately has arrived at the shelter in need of finding a new home. Since coming into the care of the shelter, Jasper has spent time with one of our dedicated foster carers. This boy behaved beautifully so is now looking to find a home to call his own.

Jasper’s new family will need to be forgiving, patient and have a lot of love. It took Jasper lots of time to settle into his foster home, and he certainly isn’t too pleased about being back in the shelter.

But Jasper’s carer noted that once he had settled in and was comfortable, Jasper would chat away, sleep on the bed and even sit on the couch.

Unfortunately, Jasper is easily stressed so is looking for a calm, quiet and cat-friendly home. This boy will need a lot of time and patience in settling in, but once willing will reward his new owners with lots of love when he is ready.

Jasper currently is on a special diet to help alleviate some tension while he is at the shelter and will need to remain on this diet, but could potentially move onto another support food once he is more comfortable in his home.

Visit the RSPCA at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life – you won’t regret it!
