Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Joey and Jeremiah are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These gorgeous animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below.

Dog of the Week – Joey

At just five months old, Joey, the mixed breed staffy, has a whole lot of love to give. With a lifetime of happiness and joy ahead of him, sweet Joey is looking for the perfect family to settle in to. Joey is looking to become an important part of the family. He wants to be on adventures, cuddling on the couch and just enjoying life.

But Joey is young and still has a lot of things to learn. Joey will best suit a family who has some experience with adolescent dogs. Someone willing to provide a set of rules and invest in further training. Joey is an extremely smart boy and with love and treats, will make the perfect companion in no time.

Joey is playful and energetic and loves to play with rope toys and tennis balls. He also is a huge lover of treats and is extremely food motivated.

Joey will best suit a home with older children, backyard space and secure fencing. This lovely boy cannot wait to find his perfect match and start the rest of his life.

Sweet Jeremiah hopes to find some loving humans ready to dedicate their time to him.

Cat of the Week – Jeremiah

Jeremiah was abandoned at a vacant property, so he was brought to the shelter to find his new forever home. He holds no grudges and is looking for a loving family to call his own. Jeremiah is a sweet, social and cuddly boy who could live with children as long as there are clear rules about handling him.

Jeremiah requires ongoing medication for the rest of his life due to some spinal pain. While this is not debilitating, he will live a happy life as long as he continues on his medication.

Jeremiah’s new family must be ready and willing to monitor his health needs, keep him at a respectable weight, ensure he stays indoors and of course, shower him with lots of love.

Sweet Jeremiah will be fine to live with other dogs; however, he is FIV+ so cannot live with another cat. If you think Jeremiah could be the boy for you, make an appointment with our team.

Visit the RSPCA at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life – you won’t regret it!
