Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Kolt and Squirrel are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These gorgeous animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below.

Dog of the Week – Kolt

Meet our lovely boy Kolt – a beautiful boy with a lot of character. He is quite a smart dog who responds well to commands, but he still has the capacity to learn so much more. He can sit, drop, shake, stay, fetch, give and touch on cue.

His favourite game is to tug, and his second favourite game is to run and slide with whatever toy happens to be in his possession. Kolt is a young and fun-loving dog to be around, but small children might find him a little too loving, and it may be hard to contain his fun-loving personality.

Kolt loves to socialise and play with other friendly dogs, and he would be well suited as a second dog in the home. Kolt requires plenty of daily mental and physical exercise and is strong on the lead. That said, he is a joy to spend time with and his new family will love him.

Little Miss Charmer – on her terms!

Cat of the Week – Squirrel

Meet Squirrel. She was brought into the shelter as a stray and the poor girl had been through the wars when she came into our care. She was skinny, matted and she had a broken tail.

Thankfully, her life was transformed, and she’s now used to living a life of luxury. Due to the severity of her broken tail, some of it had to be removed. She’s got her little Frankfurt section of tail and the fur will grow back to normal.

Squirrel loves to have her own space, but she is also quite happy to come in and take over yours. She prefers when people allow her to approach them, rather than you just coming straight in for a cuddle. However, if you give her the time for her preferred greeting, you will be rewarded by her sitting on your lap or curling up on your chest.

She’s certainly looking for a household where she can be the star in your eyes and live as the only pet in the house. Squirrel is waiting for you to come down to the shelter and give this special lady the loving home she deserves.

Visit the RSPCA at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life – you won’t regret it!
