Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Linus and Jerry are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These gorgeous animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below.

Cat of the Week – Linus

Linus the cat hasn’t had the best start to life, and because of this, it certainly takes him some time to be comfortable around new and unfamiliar humans. During his stay at the shelter, Linus has spent some time out with a dedicated foster carer who turned him into the affectionate and happy man he is today.

When settling into a new home, you’ll likely find Linus hiding under beds or other furniture. His family will need to have plenty of time and patience to ensure he has everything he needs to settle down into his forever home.

Spending time with Linus will include sitting nearby and talking to him. While he may at first put up a scary front, with a little perseverance he’ll return the chattiness. Once sweet Linus gets to know you, he will certainly become your second shadow. From the moment you walk home to settling on the couch, Linus won’t be far away if your lap is free.

Linus is looking for a dedicated family willing to put in the hard miles to allow him to become a well-adjusted member of the family. As Linus has FIV, he will best suit a home where he can be the only pet in the household.

Jerry

Jerry is looking for some humans to give him all the love!

Dog of the Week – Jerry

Jerry is a lovely older gentleman who has plenty of years and love left to give to a fortunate family. Jerry loves to go out on his daily walks with volunteers and particularly enjoys playing games with toys. He has lovely manners with people and has some good foundational basic training.

Jerry can be quite an active dog, but also loves just to chill out and hang with his people. In his new home, Jerry would be happy to be the only dog in the household. But could also be accepting of a friendly female dog companion.

Jerry’s new home must have secure fencing to ensure he can be kept safe and happy in his new living space. This handsome guy will suit a family with older children. However, all interactions between children and dogs should be actively monitored.

If you have space in your home and heart to welcome Jerry into your family, make sure to come and speak with our team.

Visit the RSPCA at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life – you won’t regret it!
