Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Quazi and Phoebe are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These gorgeous animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below.

Dog of the Week – Quazi

Quazi is a favourite at the shelter with Volunteers and staff alike. With a beautiful chocolate, coffee coat, this gentle boy has been with us for over six months now but has proven to be a fantastic student. He is an intelligent boy who can sit, shake and walks well on his harness. With some treats for encouragement, he’s a very quick learner!

Quazi will need a home with strong, high fencing and a family who can provide him with daily walks and games. His favourite toy is the classic tennis ball which helps him warm up to strangers who he can be a little nervous around at first.

Quazi has previously lived with a child, and we would recommend him in a family with kids 8 years and older. He can be boisterous at times, so all interactions between dogs and children should be actively monitored. He is definitely friendly with other dogs (he can be a bit of a ladies man!), but he would get along well with a tolerant older female dog if you already had one in the home.

Mostly, Quazi is just a kind-hearted boy looking for a loving home with a family that would include him. If you think that could be you, make sure you speak with our team.

Cat of the Week – Phoebe

Phoebe

Phoebe is looking for a loving family.

Phoebe came to our shelter as a stray but has adjusted well to the life of a house cat through our foster program. Phoebe mostly keeps to herself at the shelter and is a bit shy. She loves to snuggle up in her cubby and is best approached by one person at a time. Once she spends a bit of quality pat time getting used to people, she becomes very warm and affectionate.

Phoebe is an absolute purr machine! She loves to let you know when she’s content, particularly after a good chin scratch. If there are other noises around, Phoebe can become a little bit anxious. For this reason, she is likely to thrive in a quiet home with one or two adults. Her foster carer says she is very well behaved and gentle. If you are interested in a soft, kind friendship, Phoebe is your kind of girl!

Visit the RSPCA at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life – you won’t regret it!
