Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Ted Lasso and Hastings are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These gorgeous animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below.

Rooster of the Week – Ted Lasso

Ted Lasso and his good friend Coach Beard came to the shelter together. Now that Coach Beard has found his perfect home, it’s time for Ted to shine and find his home too.

Ted Lasso is a friendly, strong and confident rooster. He really enjoys scratching through the grass, inspecting the bugs and showing off to the team when they walk by. Ted is a social rooster. Like most roosters, he would love a large flock of hens to take care of and serve with pride. He is a very flock orientated boy.

Ted would suit a large property where he has plenty of space to move around, stretch his legs and wings and, of course, look after his lovely hens. We would recommend Ted as a farm rooster or at least a large property.

Sussex Rooster of the Week – Hastings

Bring the aristocracy to your property with our very own Light Sussex Rooster, Duke Hastings.

Sussex chickens are one of the oldest known breeds of chickens, originating from the county of Sussex in England. Sussex chickens are highly sought after due to their kind and curious nature, long breeding history, and striking beauty.

Hastings is quite the gentleman. He loves calling out to anyone who walks past and quite enjoys spending his days in the sun scavenging for bugs and grubs. Like Ted Lasso, Hastings is a large rooster. He’s very strong and confident and has the same protective nature as Ted. He is very flock orientated too; he has taken quite a protective nature to some of the other hens at the shelter.

Hastings would suit a loving family with a large property or farm, with lots of space for him to roam around, spend time with his flock of hens and chase the snakes away.

If you are looking to add a rooster to your property, come on down and meet the boys. They are both ready to live to their full potential.

Visit the RSPCA at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life – you won’t regret it!

I am voting for these two roosters in the upcoming Federal election. They are very lovely. Unfortunately after moving from acerage outside the ACT I have moved my chooks (to Murrumbateman), my horses (to Wamboin), and my border collie has passed on, otherwise one of them would look great in the chook run.
