Want to know the best way to keep warm this weekend? Head to Old Canberra Inn on Saturday afternoon, sit beside the fire and enjoy the August iteration of Cathy Diver‘s residency at the historic venue. Expect folk songs and a story or two, and make sure you give her latest release Watertight‘ a listen before you go.

After that, head down the road to The Polo. TraXion Big Band are bringing you a night of swing, Latin jazz and big band classics that’ll get you moving and/or toe-tapping (depending on whether you opt for the dancefloor or the calm of a table with friends). Even jazz newcomers do not want to miss Lucy Ridge’s breathtaking vocals on the band’s version of Feeling Good.

A bunch of local favourites are on stages this week. Head to Crop Up Sessions at sideway on Wednesday to catch up-and-comers ARCHIE alongside Endrey, Lost Coast and Melbourne’s Enola Gay. On Friday night, Pleased To Jive You launch their latest album with special guests at The Polo.

If you straight-up just want to dance, Just A Gent hits Mr Wolf this Friday and Kilter, alongside FEEL, plays Fiction (also on Friday).
