ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to a home invasion that occurred in Gordon this morning (Monday, February 11), in which offenders forced their way into a couple’s house, tied them up and threatened them.
Police were called to the Knoke Avenue home about 9.30am when the daughter of the couple arrived home and found her parents bound with duct tape.
A man was seen leaving the residence shortly before this time, and he fled on foot up Jim Pike Avenue.
The man is described as approximately 30 years of age with a dark, shaved head, dark-coloured skin, and wearing a black hooded jumper with jeans.
A second offender is described as approximately 6’5” (196cm) tall, with a big build, wearing a balaclava, blue shirt, dark blue trousers and black work-boots.
Police believe both men fled the house on foot.
A late-model blue-coloured sedan was seen in the area being driven by another man and is suspected to be involved.
The couple were not injured during the incident.
Anyone who may have seen these men or a vehicle in the area, or witnessed suspicious behaviour in Gordon around this time, or who may have information, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
