Where can I find kids' interior shops in Canberra?

Thanks for all your help everyone – we’re getting sorted now. We do all the basics for decoating – painting etc But it’s good to get a few extras from the shops that we can’t make.

Why not let the kids decorate their own bedrooms with their artwork, etc. Give them a chance to be creative.

There is a beautiful store for this exact type of thing in Braddon. It’s called ‘Tip You’re It’ and it’s on Lonsdale Street, just near The Hamlet (food vans). I love it so much, I’ve been in a couple of times in the last two weeks to look at their stuff and I don’t even have kids.

There is also another store on Lonsdale Street called Lellow Kids but I think it mainly has clothing and toys.

I have no expertise in this area – but there is a small shop just down the road from my work in Manuka. It;s called Wolfie. It’s a kids specific shop that looks a little quirky. They may have some stuff there.

Hey Julmar, like BombaySapphire, I haven’t come across any interior shops in Canberra that are specifically for kids, but I’d also recommend the Handmade Markets if you can wait that long.

Otherwise, I’ve often found really nice gifts for friends’ children at Little Sprout in Phillip. It’s a kids toy store, but they often have wall decals, hanging art, mobiles, cushions etc that would look great in a kids bedroom. A little pricey, but lovely stuff.

I don’t believe Canberra has any specifically ‘kids’ interior shops, but a lot of the smaller boutiques around the place (HandsomePretty and Hive in Braddon, Shop Girl Flower Girl in Ainslie) sell gorgeous things that would look great in kids rooms. Shop Handmade (in Civic near the Casino end) has a lot of great stuff too, but if you are able to wait I would encourage you to hold out until the the Handmade Market, as there are a lot of sellers with great decor items for kids.

This is news to me – I didn’t know that such shops even existed. I had 3 kids – we painted the bedrooms & put beds in them – still you learn something new every day.
