A 46-year-old Campbell woman has been charged with 23 fraud offences following the execution of a search warrant by ACT Policing this morning (26 February).

Police executed the search warrant at a residence in Campbell in relation to an investigation into fraudulent activity at a child care facility in Weston.

ACT Policing alleges the woman obtained property by deception worth more than $160,000.

Further investigations are ongoing into the misappropriation of funds which police say may be in excess of $480,000.

Police expect to lay additional charges in the coming weeks but do not believe any other people were involved in this activity.

Police say at no time was the care of children compromised by the woman’s alleged actions.

Police are liaising with Australian Government regulators to assist the child care centre to continue operating.

She is expected to appear before the ACT Magistrates Court this afternoon.
