Burnt out cars

By Special G 25 November 2005 1

There was a picture of a burnt out Commodore in the Cotter on the front page of the Canberra Times today

They are saying that car thefts are up by 50%, but then again 95% of statistics are made up on the spot.

It also says that more cars are recovered in the ACT. If they are in the same condition as the one in the photo its probably not saying much.

My car was nicked twice from Belconnen Car Park (no suprise there) and recovered both times. The first time the ignition was buggered from where the theif had stuck a screwdriver or something in to start it. The second time the car was recovered fine, the only damage was the copious amounts of fingerprint dust the police left all over the inside and outside of the car — absolute bugger to remove.
