Joy Burch is making it known that she’s opened the Chisholm Health Co-op:
The Chisholm Health Co-op is an innovative one-stop shop offering a range of health and support services, including access to bulk-billing, to Tuggeranong residents.
Ms Burch said the capital funding for the clinic was a partnership between the ACT Government, business and the community.
“The ACT Government has provided $200,000 in start-up funding for the new clinic, matched by the West Belconnen Health Cooperative through a donation of $100,000 from the Bendigo Bank and $100,000 from individual Co-op members,” Ms Burch said.
“As a Chisholm resident myself I am pleased I have been able to play a part in bringing this important new service to our local shops, and I hope this is the first of many clinics the Co-op sets up in Tuggeranong.”
The West Belconnen Health Cooperative which runs five other similar centres in Canberra.
The first centre opened in West Belconnen in 2010 and has been followed by centres in Charnwood, Kippax, Page, Evatt and Chisholm with a total of 15,000 patients.
“The clinic will provide medical, nursing and allied health services to the Tuggeranong community, five days a week.
