Firefighters extinguish kitchen blaze in Monash

There are temporary traffic diversions in place on Barraclough Crescent, Monash after firefighters extinguished a small kitchen fire on Thursday afternoon (4 July).

Around 3:17 pm, emergency services received reports of a house fire in Monash after residents were alerted to a smoke alarm.

Firefighters entered to find the home smoke-logged and identified burning materials on a stove top.

HAZMAT crews are currently conducting atmospheric monitoring and ventilating the property to ensure it is safe to reoccupy.

Community is asked to avoid the area where possible.
