We are moving house soon and are looking for recommendations for a reliable furniture removalist?
We used a company called Quality Removals 1300 266 599 https://www.qualityremovals.com.au David and his team where reliable, pretty efficient and we were able to purchase a few moving boxes from them too as we had run out.. They are not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for I guess.
Are you moving to Canberra or within? That would make a difference on who we can recommend too.
Best of luck.
We used http://www.actmovers.com.au a few times now, they arrived on time and were very careful with our furniture.
The price was really good, friendly and reliable service. We will use them again. Fully recommended.
I used Chess Removals from ACT to NSW, best removalist I have ever used. The quote was in depth explaining exactly what the charges were for and the guys with the truck arrived exactly on time. As I was moving 3 hours way the driver asked if I would mind if they stopped to pick up a coffee and a sandwich on route. What a surprise to have such politeness! Very very happy with their service, everything was carefully wrapped and strapped in the truck and not even a single scratch on any of the furniture.
We used White Knight Transport in September to move. After getting a few quotes from other removalists, we went with White Knight as they had the middle of the range in price, which covered insurance and a few other things.
They give you two quotes, charge by the hour and as a package, but Diane in the office did say, the hourly rate was better. We changed the move date a few times due to external factors and each time Diane was more than happy to help out in rescheduling and ensuring we were first up to be moved on the day.
No breakages from the move and all three guys were efficient and had a three bedroom house (furniture and lots of boxes) moved in about 3 hours (load and unload).
Would highly recommend
I have moved house twice within Canberra using Two Men and a Truck (although I actually had three of them come out with the truck). They gave me a call when they left the depot with their expected arrival time and then got stuck in. They did a good job both times (no breakages or damage to either house) so I am happy to recommend them.
I don’t think any good removalist is cheap, but it was totally worth every cent so that I did not have to be the one trying to haul my fridge and massively heavy entertainment unit up and down flights of stairs…
I’ll second govnor and recommend Quality removals for a local move. They charge by the hour but are extremely efficient and quick at their work. We had some really heavy stuff (a large treadmill among others) that had to be carried down from the first floor via a spiral staircase, which they managed in a breeze. We also used their services for packing kitchen wares and other fragile items. We did not have any particularly valuables things such as antiques or paintings but they delivered all our stuff without any damage whatsoever. David & his team also did a tip run for us as a last minute request. They certainly made our move pretty much stress free.
For interstate moves, we have used Chess in the past. They are on the expensive side but then are thorough, efficient and careful with your stuff.
Good luck with your move!
