Music lovers have some tough calls to make this Saturday as two mini-festivals take place across town. The 5 Year All Ages Band Bonanza celebrates half a decade of punk music in Canberra, and sees local heroes including Charlotte & The Harlots and Revellers take to the stage at UC Hub.

Canberra Live Music Festival is also going down on Saturday, with the likes of Hedy Blaazer, Lady Denman and The Narcissists playing across an outdoor and indoor stage at The Polo.

Get into the festive spirit on Sunday as carollers take over the Grand Staircase in New Acton’s Nishi Building. The aptly named Carols in the Grand Stair is an invitation to sit in one of Canberra’s iconic contemporary spaces and add your voice to those of local youth choir Vocal Fry.

Two of Canberra’s favourite singer-songwriters are joining forces at Smith’s on Saturday, with ex-pat Julia Johnson and art-pop solo artist Pheno both performing.
