Alphonso is raring and ready to go!

Meet our lovable animals looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

This week, say hello to our ‘Pets of the Week’ – the excitable Alphonso and the timid Woollie.

Dog of the Week – Alphonso

Meet this week’s boisterous youngster, Alphonso. If his Helicopter tail doesn’t endear you to him, his enthusiasm will!

This handsome five-month-old pup is looking for someone who is willing to put some time into basic training. While Alphonso’s (not so patiently) waiting, he is working hard on his manners so he can be the dog of your dreams. He’s pretty clueless on a lead – he’d much prefer to roll over for belly rubs.

Alphonso loves games! He’s a champ with a tennis ball or squeaky toy and likes to swap the toy out for a treat! While he hasn’t had a lot of experience with other dogs, he would welcome an older female companion.

We recommend Alphonso for a family with children eight years and older.

*Please remember that all interactions between children and dogs/pups should be monitored.

Cat of the Week – Woollie

Timid but adorable.

When you visit our RSPCA ACT Shelter, you might have a bit of a problem finding our timid little Woollie. After a search of the area, you’ll find him huddled in the corner, facing the wall. Woollie has been a bit shy here and may take a little bit longer to get to know his beautiful future family. He currently is living with his friend ‘Katie’, and they are happy to co-exist together. We’d best describe him as ” loving, submissive, and one that takes time to build a relationship”.

Woollie and Katie were surrendered to the Shelter due to their owners’ retirement. He is now looking for a new forever home where he can live out the rest of his days in peace. The ideal family would be one with older members, who can respectfully allow him to come out of his shell at his own pace. He has previously been an indoor/ outdoor cat and would enjoy having some safe outdoor areas to explore (i.e. a cat run).

Can you give our timid boy the love, care and patience he so desperately needs?

Visit us at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston ACT 2611 and add a new companion to your life – you won’t regret it!
