Sassy by name, sassy by reputation.

We have so many lovable animals looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter, and that is why we are so excited to share our new weekly instalment of ‘Pets of the Week.’

This week, say hello to our ‘Pets of the Week’ – a sassy dog and a bonded pair of shy cats are searching for their forever homes.

Dog of the Week – Sassy

Sassy by name and sassy by nature.

Gorgeous good girl Sassy has been in our care since June and is finally ready to find her forever home. Sassy came into the Shelter via our Inspectorate and hadn’t had the best life up until this point. Luckily for her, things are starting to turn around. Sassy loves toys and thinks ‘chase and pounce’ is the best game EVER.

Sassy is looking for an adventure buddy that would take her along to explore the world. Ideally, she would suit someone who leads an active lifestyle and can keep her busy and well exercised. Sassy is also open to a doggo boyfriend – but be warned, she likes to play hard, so her partner in crime would need a similar play style!

We recommend Sassy for a family with children 12 years and older. Please remember that all interactions between children and dogs/pups should be monitored.

Cats of the Week – Spicks & Specks

This cute duo is looking for a quiet home together. Spicks and Specks found their way to our Shelter after their owner sadly passed away.

These two gorgeous cats are bonded so are looking for a forever home together. They are both quite timid and would need a family that will take the time to introduce them to their new home.

Specks is particularly scared and would need a home that accepts all her little quirks (which is mainly hiding at the moment). She relies on Spicks to be the outgoing one! Spicks likes to purr like a tractor as soon as anyone pays her any attention! As they both previously lived with one older person, they find lots of people coming and going to be quite scary. They are looking for an indoor-only home without young children but would thrive with gentle teens.
