Meet beautiful Betty (bam-ba-lam). She’s always ready (bam-ba-lam). Whoa … Photos: RSPCA ACT.

Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Betty and Svengali are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These gorgeous animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below.

Dog of the Week – Betty

Lap dog alert. The loving Betty is looking for her perfect human.

We would like to introduce you to Betty, the loveable giant who thinks she’s a lap dog. She will steal your heart the moment you lay eyes on her, just as she did ours. Betty came to us as a nervous stray. She was timid in her new surroundings. However, she quickly took a liking to everyone at the shelter.

Daily cuddles with Betty have become a highlight. She gets so much joy and happiness just knowing that you are coming to sit with her. The moment you do, she will rotate between sitting on your lap and lying beside you for a belly rub, her tongue hanging out with a big grin.

Betty would suit an energetic owner. She’s looking for someone to take her on daily walks and someone who wants their dog to be an active part of their life. She would also love a snuggle buddy to spend quality time with too. Does this sound like you?

Svengali

Sweet Svengali is a chatty boy who loves his pats.

Cat of the Week – Svengali

Sweet Svengali is looking for someone to give him time to come out of his shell.

Svengali came to us from a humane cat trap on a rural property. When he first arrived, he was scared and timid, but with time and dedication from our team, he has blossomed into a friendly, chatty boy who loved pats from his human friends.

Once he has the time to become familiar with you and his new surroundings, Svengali will make a beautiful companion to someone looking for a special friend. Though he recovers quite quickly and relaxes again, he can still get a bit spooked by fast movements. He would suit a person familiar with cat behaviour and has previous experience with cats. Due to his pale complexion, Svengali would need to be an indoor cat or have access to a shaded cat run. We know this sweet boy will charm you the moment you meet him.

Visit the RSPCA at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life – you won’t regret it!
