Nate is patiently waiting at RSPCA ACT to find a home to call his own.

Meet our lovable ‘Pets of the Week’ looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

This week, say hello to long-term resident Nate and the sweet-hearted Roxy.

Dog of the Week – Nate

Meet the oh so charming Nate!

One handsome young bachelor, Nate is boisterous and bursting to meet a new family that he can call his own. A tall and lanky boy, Nate has been in the care of our Shelter since the start of the year and loves to stretch those legs and go on daily walks with our volunteers.

Nate is a playful young dog, who loves affection and scratches, especially on his butt! They say the way to a dog’s heart is through their stomach, and this is certainly the case with this boy. Nate loves his treats and is working hard on learning how to improve his doggy manners.

Nate would prefer a family with no other dogs, and someone who is prepared to put in the effort of continuing his training. We recommend Nate for a family with children 12 years and older. Please remember that all interactions between children and dogs/pups should be monitored.

If you have space in your heart for the gorgeous Nate, come and speak to our Kennels team.

Cat of the Week – Roxy

Meet sweetheart Roxy who’s at RSPCA ACT for the second time in her life after finding in her previous home that she really doesn’t like other animals. Roxy expressed her discomfort loudly and obviously in her old home, but since being back at the Shelter has started to calm down again.

This means that Roxy is now looking for a pet-free, relaxing home that she can call her own. Previously Roxy was given safe access to the outdoors to separate herself from other pets and would continue to benefit from access to a secure cat run, or regular supervised visits outdoors.

Roxy is affectionate and sweet when she is comfortable, which you will see by her lovely chatty nature at the Shelter. Her beautiful fluffy coat will require plenty of regular grooming to keep this cute cat mat-free. You’ll often find this gentle girl curled up inside an igloo, or laid out in the sun of her condo.

Roxy could live with older teenagers, but we ask that she not go to a home with young children.

Visit us at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston ACT 2611 and add a new companion to your life – you won’t regret it!
