Meet our lovable ‘Pets of the Week’ that are looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!
This week, say hello to the delightful dog Sassy and charming cat Seamus!
Dog of the Week – Sassy
Sassy by name and sassy by nature. This gorgeous pooch is looking for an adventure buddy to call her new best friend. Life hasn’t been easy for Sassy, but we are hoping that things will start to turn around.
Unfortunately, due to the stigma surrounding her breed, Sassy is often overlooked by potential adopters at the Shelter. Which has resulted in her staying for over 300 days, being the 5th longest resident in care of all RSPCA’s across Australia.
Sassy needs a family who live an active lifestyle and will be able to keep her mentally and physically stimulated through exercise and play. Sweet Sassy loves to go on her daily walks with the volunteers at our Shelter.
Sassy is a well-mannered dog who loves to laze about in the sun to warm up. You’ll often find this sweet heart pressed against the door of her kennel, eagerly waiting a treat or some scratches.
As a mature lady – Sassy is particularly fussy about the company that she keeps. She would selfishly prefer to be the one and only pet in your life.
We recommend Sassy for a family with children 12 years and older. Please remember that all interactions between children and dogs/pups should be monitored.
Cat of the Week – Seamus
Seamus the cat was shy at first but has emerged from hiding and is ready to find his forever home. This fabulous boy was surrendered through no fault of his own and is now in need of a lovely retirement family.
Super affectionate and a mature gentleman, Seamus is a lover of all people! While he may need some encouragement to come out when there is a lot going on, some quiet surroundings and tasty treats will certainly entice him to be your friend. This sweet boys ideal home would be quiet, with one or two adults and indoor only to keep his precious pink nose protected from the sun.
Seamus may need some time to settle into his new home, but will become your very best friend if you give him the space he needs. Seamus would also prefer to live as the only pet in your life, so he can greedily have all your love and attention.
While Seamus is an older cat, he still loves his favourite toys including balls and squeaky toys. If you need a lovely elderly cat, who is young at heart, come and visit Seamus!
