Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Teresa and Blanche are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These gorgeous animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below.

Cat of the Week – Teresa

Teresa was surrendered to the shelter through no fault of her own. She came with a large family of sweet cats who are all eager to find perfect homes of their own. Teresa is a lovely gentle cat but hasn’t had many interactions with people so she can be a little shy at first. Her new family will need to give her a bit of time and space to settle, but we’re confident she’ll be ready to give out plenty of cuddles in no time.

Teresa absolutely loves to play. Give her a toy mouse on a string and she’ll be entertained for hours happily batting and chasing. As cat lovers would know, you don’t need expensive toys to keep your cat entertained. Making fun enrichment toys is easy and there’s plenty of tips on our knowledge database. This is one of the best ways to bond and learn about your cat’s temperament and behaviour.

Teresa has lived with other cats her whole life. It would be amazing if she could go to a home with one of her siblings or if you currently have a friendly cat at home that’s looking for a companion.

Having lived with a sensible child before, Teresa would do well with teens or in an older household. She has been an outdoor cat her entire life, but we’ve been introducing her to indoor living with a cat run and she’s taken well to it.

Meet and get to know Teresa soon; she’ll be sure to charm her way into your heart.

Blanche

Beautiful Blanche needs a home.

Dog of the Week – Blanche

Blanche was recently surrendered to the shelter but has quickly become a favourite friend of ours. We had the pleasure of having her visit us in the office for a few days, and we must admit it wasn’t easy to focus on work when all we wanted to do was give her love! Her little nudges at our elbow while we worked were simply too cute to ignore.

She is extremely loving and has adored every person she has met. Blanche shows her affection by leaning into you, giving you a rub with her nose or a gentle lick.

Blanche is a large dog with the muscles of a track sprinter. Someone keen on an exercise buddy will have an excellent match. Bike-riding or running, Blanche will happily trot alongside you. She walks gently on the lead and doesn’t pull.

The kennels team have also said that while she plays, she has quite a goofy side that makes them smile! They recommend her for a home with children aged 8 years and older.

We love Blanche, and we’re certain that you’ll love her too.

Visit the RSPCA at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life – you won’t regret it!
