Woman in serious condition after single-vehicle crash on Kings Highway

A 52-year old woman has been taken to Canberra Hospital in a serious condition after a single-vehicle crash on Kings Highway near Braidwood.

Police and emergency services were called to the Kings Highway, Braidwood which is approximately 90km east of Canberra, about 7.45 am today (Monday 5 March).

A truck driver noticed a Toyota Echo down an embankment and called emergency services.

The driver was trapped in the vehicle before being freed by Fire & Rescue NSW. She was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Canberra Hospital in a serious condition.

Monaro Police District officers have established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The Kings Highway is closed in both directions between Monkittee Street and Northangera Road and is expected to remain closed for a few hours while investigations take place. All motorists are urged to avoid the area and are suggested to check Livetraffic.com for updates.
