Meet our lovable animals looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!
This week, say hello to our ‘Pets of the Week’ – ball-obsessed Buffy and the attention-loving Titus.
Dog of the Week – Buffy
She’s no vampire hunter, but she will hunt for tennis balls! Buffy is a lovely girl who has substituted vampire herding for tennis balls and couldn’t be happier. This gorgeous girl is typical of her Kelpie breed and loves nothing more than to chase and chase and chase some more! The great thing is, she’s willing to have you be part of the fun and will bring it back to drop it at your feet every time!
This good girl needs a job and would make an excellent training partner. You’d be hard pressed finding a cuter and more reliable companion on your fitness journey. She loves walking, running, playing and anything that involves high levels of activity. She’ll need a family that is active and loving. While she has previously lived with children and gets along well, she’d prefer to be an only dog.
We recommend Buffy for a family with children eight years and older.
*Please remember, all interactions between children and dogs/pups should be monitored.
Cat of the Week – Titus
Meet Titus! Cute, handsome and an already loving lad, Titus is feeling a little overwhelmed here at the Shelter! He was previously adopted but was returned. Unfortunately, he wasn’t given enough time to settle in, so is now looking for a home that is willing to give him time to get used to his new surroundings.
Titus arrived at our Shelter as a stray and is now looking for that special someone who will nurture him and give the confidence boost he needs. He is charming and affectionate once you’ve gained his trust and has an adorable little meow! He can’t wait for you to help him slowly discover and experience the world of toys and playtime!
This lovely boy would suit a quiet household with one or two adult people and would need to be an indoor only cat (hopefully with a cat run – this is a requirement of adoption).
When Titus is comfortable in a new home, he LOVES getting attention from his humans ALL THE TIME and can be quite vocal to try and get what he wants! Like many roaming males, he has contracted FIV during his wanderings. As a result, he will need to be either an only cat or with another FIV positive cat.
Titus’s ideal person would understand that he’ll need to take it slow and steady but will reward you with plenty of lovely head-butts!
Visit us at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston ACT 2611 and add a new companion to your life – you won’t regret it!
