Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Dave and Kat are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These gorgeous animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below.

Dog of the Week – Dave

Dave is one of the most endearing and happy dogs you will meet. At the shelter, his signature move is wagging the back half of his body back and forth in excitement when people come to visit him at his kennel. His fondness for people, and his sociability with other dogs, will make Dave very appealing for many dog lovers.

Dave loves playtime and activities and hits the ground running once he’s given the chance. He is a great listener and calms down when instructed. He would be a fantastic match for a fit and active owner, or even a new dog friend that can match his enthusiasm for life.

Dave loves having company around him, so much so that he’ll require some departure training, secure fencing and an enclosed dog yard when he’s left outside alone.

If you’re looking for a young dog who is keen on play and quality time, Dave is the dog for you.

It’s our Kitty Kat.

Cat of the Week – Kat

The lovely Kat came into our care because her owner had to move into aged care and could no longer look after her. Kat became a little worried and stressed in the shelter environment, but now she’s ready to be in her forever home again.

Kat is an extremely sweet girl; although the shelter environment stresses her, she thrived in a home environment and will do so again. All she needs is someone who will give her the time and patience she requires to feel settled. Once she is comfortable in her new home she will provide affection and companionship to her new owner.

In her previous life, Kat loved being a friend to her older owner and got on brilliantly with the resident small dog. We would love to see her in a similar environment too.

If you enjoy a quieter life and you’ve been thinking about adopting a cat for company, look no further than our lovely shy girl.

Visit the RSPCA at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life – you won’t regret it!
