Canberra Times is reporting the woman was/is pregnant and that he condition is critical. Another dead-head driving like a maniac, too invincible to give a toss about his passenger, her baby and another road user.

@Genie – Comment 9. I can assure you these words did not come out of my mouth. Thanks.

The report does say he was charged with negligent driving though .. these things don’t just fall from the sky. No one sets off in their car to cause an accident and kill others, but their interpretation of safe driving is sometimes pretty loose.

Well I can tell you now, if he has been charged, he’s not aware of it. The Canberra Times printed this and then issued a correction. My point is that this accident was not caused by ‘another dead head driving like a maniac, too invincible to care about his passenger and ‘her’ baby’, like you say.

Clearly you know the people involved… So please explain to us how the accident happened..? Did they run a red light ? Fail to give way ? Driving on the wrong side of the road ?

Perhaps you can elaborate for us ?

If this poor woman lost her unborn child, the person at fault will be charged with neg driving.. So I’m pretty sure most of these facts are wrong.

Most of what facts are wrong? I don’t really feel the need or think it’s appropriate to elaborate on the circumstances of the accident in this type of forum. I haven’t said the driver was not at fault and I haven’t said he won’t be charged. I think it’s unfair to assume the driver was driving like a maniac and didn’t give a toss about his partner and their unborn child (not to mention suggesting drugs were involved) when you clearly don’t know what happened.

My comment should have read “so I’m pretty sure most of these facts AREN’T wrong.

The phrase of “dead head driving like a maniac, too invincible to care about his passenger…. Etc etc ” have come out of YOUR mouth, not any of the rest of us commenting on this thread. As for the drugs reference – someone asked if there was any truth to the rumour going around. Not accusing them of being on drugs.

All we have asked is how the accident happened, as you clearly know the answer to that question. And paraphrasing “we clearly don’t know what happened”

In my opinion – If my half deaf mother who lives half a KM away from the intersection could here the crash over the TV (which is always way too loud) then speed was def a factor or someone failed to give way.

Absolutely no truth to the rumour that the driver tested positive to drugs. This accident was definitely not a result of ‘hoon’ driving – the driver had his (almost 9 months) pregnant partner and young daughter in the car, and is absolutely devastated by the outcome.
