Man arrested with 7 kg of cannabis near Yass

A Victorian man has been found with more than 7 kg of drugs during a vehicle stop on the Hume Highway near Yass.

About 11:50 am yesterday (29 October), NSW Police observed a white sedan allegedly driving erratically. Police stopped the vehicle at the intersection of the Hume Highway and Whitefields Road at Bookham. Following inquiries with the man about the vehicle he was travelling in, police conducted a search of the vehicle.

Officers allegedly located a large storage bag in the boot of the vehicle containing 16 vacuum-sealed bags filled with 7.2 kg of cannabis.

A 50-year-old Victorian man was arrested and taken to Yass Police Station where he was charged with possessing a prohibited drug and drug supply.

The man was refused bail and is due to face Goulburn Local Court today (30 October).
