Police investigating assault at Belconnen Mall

ACT Policing is investigating an assault that occurred on Tuesday, 13 October at Belconnen Mall.

According to police, at about 4.30 pm, an altercation occurred between two groups on the lower level of the Mall in the forecourt adjacent to the Benjamin Way entrance, during which a teenage male was assaulted.

Police would like to speak to a teenage male in relation to the incident. He is described as Caucasian in appearance, about 15 to 18 years old with a thin build. He was wearing a black hooded jumper, black shorts and a white cap at the time of the incident.

What is the point of putting up these photos but hiding their faces?

The point is because the majority of people that recognise others from footage like this is people that already know them. From there they will mention it to the people involved and that will put pressure on the suspects to hand themselves in or at least subside their behaviour.
To put it simply, pictures and video like this aren’t for the random person reading this article, they are for the friends and family that know the suspects.
