Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Harry and Misty are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These gorgeous animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below.

Cat of the Week – Harry

Meet Harry the cat! This darling boy was surrendered to the shelter due to unfortunate circumstances and now he is looking for his forever home. Before anything else, this gorgeous boy is large, but not in a good way.

During Harry’s time at the shelter he has been placed on a strict metabolic diet to help with his weight loss journey. It will be important for his new owners to continue on this path to ensure he stays healthy. Harry can be very demanding when it comes to food, so his new family must be strong willed.

Harry is very sweet and cuddles but doesn’t like loud noises or sudden movements. This boy loves his snuggles with the Cattery staff and volunteers, and we know that in the right household he is going to make one big love bug. This boy is unsuited to living with other pets, and may be happy to live with one or two older children over the age of 10 if they are sensible and cat savvy.

Harry cannot wait to meet his new family, so if you have the space in your home and in your heart, make sure to book an appointment!

Misty is looking for love! Could that be you?

Dog of the Week – Misty

Misty the friendly dog is a delightful older lady who is looking for a comfy retirement home to call her own. This gorgeous lady is looking for some people she can have all to herself.

Misty isn’t looking for too much – a short daily stroll, some fun and games in the garden and plenty of places for her to nap and rest her head.

This lovely girl is very much a people dog and prefers to be with her humans as much as possible. While Misty has shown us at the shelter she can be open to meeting another dog, she would prefer to be the only canine in her new home.

Misty has had no previous experience with children, so will best suit a household with older and mature teenagers. Misty cannot wait to find her new forever family and hopes if it’s you she sees you very soon.

Visit the RSPCA at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life – you won’t regret it!
