Smiley Kyon needs a forever family!

Meet our lovable ‘Pets of the Week’ looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

This week, say hello to handsome Kyon and cool cat G2!

Dog of the Week – Kyon

Meet Kyon. He’s a little shy and unsure on first meeting, but with time and patience will relax into a loving and affectionate fellow. Kyon is a people dog and will be utterly devoted to his new family.

Life at the Shelter hasn’t always been easy for Kyon. He regularly spends time in foster care to ensure his mental and physical wellbeing. He lives for daily walks, scratches and couch snoozes!

Kyon’s foster family told us this boy is a great dog. He’s good at ‘sit’, and being calm and patient while he waits for a treat. Kyon will benefit from a family with lots of patience and consistency to ensure he continues training and learning his perfect dog manners.

We recommend Kyon for a family with children 8 years and older. Please remember that all interactions between children and dogs/pups should be monitored.

G2 wants to find his forever home!

Cat of the Week – G2

G2 first arrived at our Shelter last year after being found roaming the street. He spent a few months in the Shelter and found a new home. Unfortunately, he went missing again and found his way back to the Shelter. Last time this gentle giant was here, G2 was quiet, timid and a little unwell. But this time around the cheeky boy has a spring in his step and is way more courageous and affectionate.

Like many male cats who have roamed un-desexed, G2 looks a little worse for wear with a bad haircut! However, we think he looks distinguished with his salt and pepper mane.

G2 has tonnes of character and plenty of love to give. This gentle boy is wary of loud noises and would suit a quiet home with cat-savvy adults. Older teenagers would be perfect, too.

G2 will need time and patience. He takes things at his own pace, but with lots of love this boy will be giving head-butts and snuggles in no time.

While living on the streets, G2 contact FIV and will require a home where he is kept strictly indoors. Due to his FIV, G2 will not be suitable to live with any cats that are FIV-negative.

This handsome boy deserves lots of love and he’s ready to become a loyal companion to a perfect forever family.

Visit us at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston ACT 2611 and add a new companion to your life – you won’t regret it!
