Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Rosco and Garfunkel are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These gorgeous animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below.

Dog of the Week – Rosco

Meet Rosco! An extremely handsome Bull Terrier with the cutest nose we think we have ever seen. Rosco has a great personality to match his charming looks and is ready to find a forever home to call his own. Rosco is super friendly with most people and other dogs, although in some circumstances he has shown us that he can be a little worried by new or unfamiliar people and experiences. Rosco is looking for a home ready to give him lots of patience and love while he settles in and finds his feet.

Rosco is looking for an active owner who will take him on regular adventures and allow him some couch cuddle time at the end of the day. Rosco will need daily exercise and enrichment to help keep him happy and healthy, so he would be best suited to an active owner ready to take him on adventures.

We recommend Rosco for a family with no children. Please remember that all interactions between children and dogs should be monitored at all times.

Garfunkel

Garfunkel the cat is looking for a little bit of love. Could this be you?

Cat of the Week – Garfunkel

Have you ever seen a cat so cute? Meet Garfunkel. This mature boy has had a tough life living out on the streets. But after a Good Samaritan brought him to the shelter, this big boy has decided on a career change and is giving up all his previous activities to become a full-time lap cat.

This handsome guy is a cat who is happy to be wherever you are. Garfunkel is content to lay about while watching you, also providing running commentary meows on whatever you are doing. Garfunkel loves children and is happy to meet strangers; however, he needs slow and patient introductions first to ensure he is comfortable.

Unsurprisingly in his travels as a big tom cat, this fellow has contracted FIV. This means he must now be an indoor-only cat to help protect himself and others. It should be important for all potential adopters to know that Garfunkel has some medical needs after his life on the streets. But our staff can provide further information upon request.

If you have a big heart and some space on your lap, Garfunkel might just be the purrfect addition to your home!

Visit the RSPCA at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life – you won’t regret it!
