Best Friends Yami and Yama are looking for a forever family.

Meet our lovable ‘Pets of the Week’ looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

This week, say hello to the cutest siblings Yama & Yami and senior Marley.

Cats of the Week – Yama & Yami

Meet Yama and Yami! This charming duo were surrendered to the Shelter earlier this month due to their previous family suffering from allergies and now they need to find a new home. The pair love to spend their time together, lazing about in their beds. They would greatly appreciate finding a new home that allows them to continue to live together.

Yama and Yami love to keep each other company. When their humans aren’t around they rely on each other and are very playful and affectionate.

Previously Yama and Yami have lived in a family home with children and have had access to an enclosed deck where they have spent most of their time during the day.

Ideally these two cuddly cats would be looking for a home that is indoors only, with safe access to the outdoors especially given Yama’s lovely pale colouring.

Yama and Yami have not been at the Shelter for long, and can be tentative when meeting new people. But don’t worry, with some patience, love and maybe a treat, you’ll be sure to make friends once they become familiar with you.

Handsome senior Marley needs a retirement family!

Dog of the Week – Marley

Marley’s story is particularly sad. He has had four homes over the course of his life and each time has returned to us through no fault of his own. Marley is a gentle-souled dog who truly deserves a forever home where he will be loved and cherished for his twilight years.

Sweet Marley is a distinguished older gentleman, looking to find a comfy retirement home. He absolutely loves his scratches and pats, comfy dog beds and his short daily walks with our lovely volunteers. While Marley loves his soft toys which he will wander lazily after when they are thrown for him, he really lacks interest in crazy running about.

Marley can certainly be friendly to other dogs, but due to his age he doesn’t appreciate the younger boisterous pups who try to get ‘in his face’.

Marley has been well housetrained and would love nothing more than to lay at your feet while you are watching the TV.

We recommend Marley for a family with children eight years and older. Please remember that all interactions between children and dogs/pups should be monitored.
