A 48-year-old Wanniassa man will face the ACT Magistrate’s Court today in relation to the armed theft of a car which took place at the Ainslie Football Club car park on Tuesday, February 27.

At around 3.40 pm on Tuesday, police responded to a report of an armed robbery with weapons at the car park.

Three or four people allegedly approached three victims in the car park and demanded the keys to their car, a maroon Ford Falcon G6E, which was then stolen.

Following on from the incident, police officers executed a search warrant at a home in Casey at about 8.30 pm yesterday (February 28) and arrested a Wanniassa man who was taken to the City Police Station.
