Teenager arrested after allegedly robbing Belconnen cafe at knife-point

An 18-year-old male will face the ACT Magistrates Court today after he allegedly robbed a Belconnen cafe at knifepoint.

At around 1:55 pm yesterday, the teenager entered the cafe and allegedly threatened two people with a knife, demanding cash. Police allege that he then went to a hardware store and stole an angle grinder.

Around 2:40 pm, police found the man and the stolen property.

He will face court charged with attempt aggravated robbery with an offensive weapon, aggravated robbery with an offensive weapon, theft and common assault.
